World first for the Quick Service Restaurant market
Finding menus and waiting for your order are a thing of the past
This week Subway® released Subway Express™ for your mobile which allows customers to order Subway products via a simple to use menu driven system installed on their mobile phone. Subway Express™ for your mobile was conceived, developed and deployed by Altaine, a New Zealand based organisation.
“The mobile phone is no longer just a tool for calling and txting and hasn’t been for some time,” says Warren Tobin, Managing Director of Altaine. “These multimedia devices are carried by virtually everyone and many (consumer goods) companies are now trying to figure out how to engage using this technology. Those that don’t will be left behind.”
Subway Express™ on your mobile’ complements the existing Altaine TXT and Web ordering services in use by Subway® for the past two years. Subway customers can access the new application by going to www.subwayexpress.co.nz and following the instructions or by txting SUBWAY to 5757.
Interest is high in the rest of the Subway® world and the same package of services will be rolled out in the UK. Other large opportunities are developing in other Subway® locations worldwide. In addition, another large UK QSR has already commissioned Altaine to develop and implement similar technology for world-wide launch in early 2008.
Altaine is a New Zealand owned mobile technology company (connecting) with clients in the UK, USA, Asia and Europe.
